The next five years in Burkina Faso

CBM

In order to have a consensual strategic plan that meets the expectations of partners and beneficiaries in 2015-2019, CBM organised a workshop with partners on Wednesday, 4 February 2015 in Ouagadougou

The overall objective of the strategy

Officially registered in 2012, CBM aims to create an inclusive society in which all Burkinabe people with disabilities enjoy their human rights on an equal foot with others and achieve their full potential.
In line with the work done in the country since the 1980s, CBM and its implementing partners had in-depth discussions on the strategy for joint intervention in the next five years, taking into account the challenges on the field.

Thanks to the participatory approach, the Burkina Faso Country Office now has a consensual reference paper on thematic areas to be addressed and the practical steps for making them operational in Burkina.
In addition to partners and beneficiaries, other workshop participants were : Michael Kirumba, CBM Regional Director for West Africa; Fabiene Arnould, CBM Programme Manager for West Africa; Dénis HOFER, CBM Switzerland Programme Manager and Ulrike VEISMANN from CBM Germany.
The overall objective of the strategy is to "facilitate the implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities in an inclusive Burkinabe society." As a specific objective, the strategy intends to "improve access of beneficiaries to basic services and to empowering opportunities by developing multi-sector partnerships."
