Disability-Inclusive Social Protection across generations: Advancing social inclusion and poverty eradication

Join us on November 4th, 4:45–6:00 PM, in Room 1 at the Qatar National Convention Center for a dynamic in-person solution session co-hosted by CBM, the Republic of Kenya, the Jordanian Senate, UNICEF, International Disability Alliance (IDA), and Sightsavers. Together, we’ll explore how inclusive social protection systems, both formal and informal, can drive equity, resilience, and rights for persons with disabilities across all ages.

Second World Summit for Social Development 2025

The Second World Summit for Social Development’s Political Declaration, the Doha Political Declaration,  calls on UN Member States to eradicate poverty, promote social inclusion, and build resilience for all. Achieving these goals requires inclusive social protection systems that empower individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or disability, to manage risks and thrive, especially during times of stress and crisis.

This solution session will explore what a comprehensive system of social protection can look like and why integrating both formal and informal measures is essential to ensure no one is left behind. It will examine how such systems can be made inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of persons with disabilities. The discussion will highlight the importance of aligning social protection with rights-based approaches and the Political Declaration’s commitments to social inclusion and poverty eradication.
