CBM and partners join the National Mental Health Fair
CBM Philippines and partners from the CBR Cluster in Luzon joined the National Mental Health Fair led by the Department of Health.
CBM Philippines together with its partners - Sorsogon Integrated Health Services Foundation Inc. (SIHSFI), Holy Face Rehabilitation Center for Mental Health (HFRCMH), Simon of Cyrene Community Rehabilitation and Development Foundation, Inc. (SCCRDFI), and Help Learning Center joined the “National Mental Health Fair” on October 30, 2017. The event aimed to highlight the National Mental Health Week and drum up the promotion of mental health and its health services support networks.
CBM Philippines and its partners participated and showcased the current mental health services core programs and strategies, service delivery and networks, competencies on capacity development programs, advocacy initiatives, and practices on mental health promotion in the areas of catchment in the Bicol Region. During the exhibit, partners conducted pep talks, coaching, and mentoring for the guests and participants.
About 300 attendees among health professionals, academe, hospital/rural health units, government agencies, NGOs, NGAs, DPO representatives, students, and persons with psychosocial disability and support groups joined the fair.
The activity was led by the Department of Health Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCD) Manila in coordination with the Department of Health Regional Office V through the Non-Communicable Disease Prevention & Control Cluster (NCDPC).
One of CBM Philippine’s Programmatic priorities is the integration community mental health services in the Community Based Inclusive Development Programmes. We also support advocacy on promotion of community based mental health services into the primary health care and specialist services of other mental health facilities in partnership with stakeholders at local and national level.
