Zero Project Award 2024
Three CBM Projects Shortlisted
We are very happy to announce that CBM and our partners have been shortlisted for the Zero Project Award 2024 for three projects in Kenya, Guatemala, and Palestine.
The Zero Project Award recognises projects that address the needs and rights of persons with disabilities, contributing to the global effort to create a more just, equitable, and inclusive society – a world with zero barriers. The 2024 theme is innovations in inclusive education as well as information and communication technology.
164 practices and policies were shortlisted for the Zero Project Award 2024, from 62 countries and 6 continents. All three of CBM's shortlisted projects use innovative methods to ensure children with disabilities can access quality inclusive education, even in challenging circumstances.

In Kenya, we work with our partners Waldorf Kakuma Project (WKP) and African Inland Church Health Ministries (AICMH) to ensure access to inclusive education for children in an area of the country affected by multi-faceted crises such as displacement, famine and drought.

In rural Guatemala, we work with our partner Asociación de Padres y Amigos de Personas con Discapacidad Santiago Atitlán (ADISA) to ensure that educational opportunities are tailored to the diverse needs of all learners.

Last but not least, in Palestine, together with our partner Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC), we combine hybrid and blended e-learning methods to provide children with and without disabilities, quality education as well as individual counselling services.
The 2024 awardees will be announced on 3 December 2023 and will receive their award during the Zero Project Conference 2024, in Vienna in February 2024.
